Contribution Ideas:

• Writing a cool FlipJump program (preferably with test support)
• Adding a feature to the standard library
• Writing a new standard library module
• Optimize an stl macro
• Testing a feature
• Suggesting a cool new addition to the FlipJump assembly
• Suggesting a better way of preserving information (documentation, etc.)
• Optimize the interpreter
• Optimize the assembler
• Writing an interpreter in a different language (kinda easy, you only need to know the .fjm format)
• Writing an assembler in a different language (more of a challenge)
• Writing (/refactoring to) a cleaner and better code

Discuss here before you start to hear some insight and tips, and to make sure no one else is already working on it 😉

Am I right that there already is a hex.div (I remember seeing some test)? Is the idea you're suggesting to make it more efficient?

BTW, I know that a lot of time past since, but I run into your comment so just updating that hex.div works and it's much more efficient :)

Hey there! Nice to see you're still interested in this project!

Not sure if I mentioned, but I have implemented a simple VM that can do very basic operations (including drawing): https://github.com/lestrozi/pipevm/

Shouldn't be too difficult to convert the 2 brainfck projects there (pong and shell) to fj (I suppose you have a converter, no?). It will probably be very inefficient though, perhaps unplayable :P but worth a shot!

I've been spending most of my time working professionally with Rust+Linux on some low-level networking, but I don't have any pet projects atm. Up for suggestions :)

Btw, after my comment about interrupt/syscalls in the other discussion, another idea would be to implement some of BIOS interrupts (as you mentioned, we'd need something similar to int 16h to check/read key presses, as well as int 10h for graphics).

But I'm not very experienced in firmwares to be very useful
