Eg. with Neovim, I simply enabled the config for tombi:

With that I get hover definitions, but formatting does not occur, which I use via conform.nvim:

Adding toml = { 'tombi' } to formatters_by_ft works, but that instead calls tombi format ..., rather than using the language server.

This is a problem on the neovim side, not the Tombi side.

Tombi, which is a language server, declares that it has the ability to perform document formatting when initializing the connection with the editor.

The editor, which is the client, can detect and choose whether to use this feature or not.

📝 In VSCode, if there are multiple extensions for formatting TOML, you need to specify which one to use with the following settings.

Neovim may need a similar setup
