Running Loom tests for tokio-util

Hello everyone,

I’m currently trying to enable the existing Loom tests for the tokio-util crate in CI. I ran into an issue and wanted to ask for guidance before opening a PR.

When I try to run the tests with the --cfg loom flag, some dependencies fail to compile , which prevents the tests from running and if i run without the flag all the tests are filtred out. I’ve checked the CONTRIBUTING.md for instructions, but I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if this is expected behavior for tokio-util.

Could anyone advise on the correct way to run Loom tests for this crate?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your willingness to contribute to Tokio!

There is a working in progress PR #7522, I suggest to kindly ask the original author if they are still working on it. Apparently, we all don't want to do duplicated works.
