Workflow to create a scheme?

Hi, I would like to create a new scheme, but I'm not perfectly sure about every color yet. What is a good workflow to tune the colors and see the changes quickly in some applications?

Hey, we don't currently have a good workflow for this at the moment.

The easiest atm would probably be:

First time

Install Tinty

1. Install Tinty
2. mkdir -p $(dirname tinty config --config-path) && touch $(tinty config --config-path)
3. Add the following to your tinty config (tinty config --config-path to see where it is):

   shell = "zsh -c '{}'"
   
   [[items]]
   path = "https://github.com/tinted-theming/tinted-vim"
   name = "tinted-vim"
   themes-dir = "colors"

4. Run tinty sync

Install your scheme

1. Run tinty config --data-dir-path to see the path to the schemes. Create a new scheme in $(tinty config --data-dir-path)repos/schemes/base16/yourscheme.yaml
2. Install Vim (to test the theme out, other editors can work too, but this is probably easiest)
3. Run ln -s $(tinty config --data-dir-path)repos/schemes/base16 ~/.vim/colors (assuming that's where your vim data is)
4. Open code file in vim
5. Vim command :colorscheme base16-yourscheme to see the theme### Testing theme edits1. Edit your scheme in path/to/schemes/base16/yourscheme.yaml. `
6. Make a change to your scheme and run tinty apply base16-ocean && tinty apply base16-yourscheme (the base16-ocean part is to reset the scheme so it applies something else and reapplies your theme)

Continuous changes to yourscheme.yaml

1. Make a change to yourscheme.yaml
2. tinty apply base16-ocean && tinty apply base16-yourscheme
3. In Vim: :colorscheme base16-ocean and again :colorscheme base16-yourscheme

It's a bit task if you're not used to the command-line 😅 But if you need any help setting it up let me know.

We should create a simple web-tool to allow for easy creation and I think this issue should stay open until that's done.
