are we suppsed to call boss.work multiple times?

The docs imply that if we want to increase the processing rate of our jobs, that we're supposed to use batches via the batchSize param.

But in the worker docs, we have

Each call to work() will add a new worker and resolve a unqiue worker id.

which then seems to suggest that we should be registering a worker N times.

What is the suggest route here?

How do retries work with batchSize > 1 if one of the jobs causes the worker to fail? Do all the jobs get marked as failed?

after looking into the code, I can say that batchSize fetches multiple jobs together and if at least one job fails, it will fail all jobs and all will be retried. So, it's better to create multiple workers, each processing single job. So, if job fails, pgboss will retry only that single job
