Fetch map tiles behind a proxy

Hello,
can somebody explain, how I can tell the script to use the system proxy? I run into a timeout when fetching the map tiles.

I have never tried. However, a common thing is to set the environment variable HTTP_PROXY - you could try this and see if it works.
