Problem:
When working with complex multisystem tracks in Furnace Tracker, adding a new chip (e.g., a PSG, FM or PCM channel) to an existing project currently requires manually inputting the entire pattern arrangement row by row for that chip. This is especially time-consuming and error-prone when the song already has a long structure — we’re essentially forced to recreate the pattern flow one entry at a time for each channel of the new chip.
Proposed Solution:
Add an option to copy the entire pattern arrangement (i.e., the sequence of pattern numbers) from an existing row and apply it to a channel on a newly added chip. This would instantly replicate the song structure, saving time and ensuring consistency between chips when needed.
Use Case Example:
You’ve written a full track using two square channels and noise on the NES APU. Later, you decide to add a VRC6 or an FM chip for additional harmony or bass layers. Instead of retyping all pattern numbers for the new chip's channels (especially if your song is 120+ rows long), you could just right-click an existing channel row, select "Copy pattern arrangement to...", and apply it to the new chip’s row(s). From there, you can start filling in the new patterns without rebuilding the structure.
Benefits:
Speeds up workflow significantly.
Reduces repetitive manual input.
Ensures structural consistency between chips.
Minimizes errors when expanding arrangements.
