Feature Request: Option to Chop Off Friendly Name When Displaying Sensors like Esphome

i like to request a feature when displaying name of Sensors from Esphome it chops off the Friendly Name

i have more then 50 esphome devices and many Xiamoi Temperature sensors and in the sensor page of like a Bluetooth server for Xiamoi it displays sensor name like

White Fridge Temperature
but auto entities displays what HA is allowing and its like

Bluetooth Server White Fridge Temperature

since there is no fix it be nice a request to add to the Auto Entities like

• Remove_Friendly_Name

as an option so when it auto displays
it will display it as

White Fridge Temperature

and not
Bluetooth Server White Fridge

its a suggestion i dunno if anyone has requested or what not or if its even possible but i seen so many people are not happy that HA addes the Friendly name to sensor name but i dont have issue of the entity ID with the friendly name to it.. but i do when its linked and gotta modify every name

Ran into somewhat of the same issue with the tynet.eu MCPBridge on the ESPHOME firmware; when no name is set it auto displays the entities <device_name><entity_name> resulting in something like 'Garage Door Garage Door State'. Initially I worked around it by renaming the device to 'MCP Bridge' at first, but finally opted for setting the entity names to what I wanted to see in the card.

With the Velux KLF200 integration there is a bit different situtation, where it only has entities and no devices registered, so it would be nice to be able to add the area_name to the displayed name automatically.

It would be nice though to have options for layout of the displayed name like:

• do not display device_name,
• display area_name,
• display floor_name,
• etc.

Coming from Domoticz recently, I am not to familiar with the inner workings of HA yet, but maybe a lot is possible with the template functionality (e.g. {{ area_id('sensor.xyz') }})?

update: I noticed the default dashboard is already doing something 'intelligent' when the area_name is also in the entity_name; it seems to do something like $display_name =~ s/$area_name//;.

from what i read its home assistant thats doing thiss issue and many people complain

even if you dont have a friendly name sat on a esp device it will still bugger it up

as if you goto the epshome page in devices and look at the naming it shows right and if you rename each one there sure shows up properly but since i got +100 to rename its usless

or what would be nice if if Auto Entities sort by Sensor Name without the Friendly name .. but from what i read.. is HA itself shows the propery naming under esphome devices under each sub headding but everywhere outside of that it slaps the friendly name + sensor name

it be nice to have the option like
friendly name + sensor name
sensor name

as like an option like last changed last updated

it is frrustrating.. so far ive only renamed a few sensors as i dont wanna si there all day renaming all my sensors cuz ha adds friendly name to the sensor name..
