SMTP Gmail account not authenticating from config file

There is a current update to Google's access policy for dev's. Currently (as of Jan 2024) Google is requiring Oauth which is replacing SMTP authentication. I have been working on fixing this for my own open canary deployment, I am
wondering if anyone has experienced this and found a different workaround?
