Forgot Grafana password

Hi, I hope you can help me.

I've just tried to log into Grafana and it's not accepting the password that I thought I'd set. I realise I'll need to perform some sort of password reset but I can't work out how to do this because I'm using Teslamate via Docker on a windows PC.

I've tried to Google this for myself before posting here but all the results seem to be for Linux installs and not windows/docker and I can't work out where the various folders will be located on my PC such as /var/lib/grafana. Hence why I'm asking for help.

Any ideas?

Just remove the grafana volume... The grafana container does not hold any data.

Someone else had suggested asking ChatGPT and it came up with the following which has fixed it.

🔧 Method 1: Use Docker to Reset the Password
Open PowerShell or Command Prompt on your Windows machine.

List running containers to find the Grafana container name:

docker ps
Look for a container with a name like teslamate-grafana or similar.

Access the Grafana container:
Replace <container_name> with the actual container name (e.g., teslamate-grafana):

docker exec -it <container_name> /bin/bash
Reset the admin password using Grafana CLI:

grafana-cli admin reset-admin-password newpassword
Replace newpassword with your new password.

Exit the container:

Restart the Grafana container:

docker restart <container_name>
