Feature Request: Possibility to delete individual settings from the Default Configuration

I want to delete individual settings from the default configuration instead of copying the complete configuration.

From the functional point of view, I have something like the Extend mechanism in mind.

Example

      extend: {

        colors: [

            ]
        }
    }
}

Is the idea worth pursuing?
