Is it possible to access the headless ui component props by reference?

title, I would like for example access the "open" prop in my functional component, I've tried to access it by ref, but it seems it doesn't work that way.

My current solution is a separate state:

    <Popover>
      {({ open }) => {
        setIsOpen(open)

        return (...)
    </Popover>

or is there something like onOpenChange?
