This library is great, you've done a really nice job with it so far @t-makaro .

I'm using it pretty regularly, and getting close to having it integrated within xarray through pydata/xarray#2729.

This will hopefully increase the number of people using animatplot (both directly and indirectly through xarray), and will probably mean you get more suggestions and bugs found.

Would you like any help with the maintainance of the library? Me and @dcherian are both keen to use this, and if one of us also had commit access then we could push bug fixes for you. We could have some kind of "all PRs need a review" rule, and you retain control over the scope? What do you think?

My apologies for being slow to this. My time is being taken up job hunting and on nbconvert. I'd love to have more developers. I will have more time to review PRs and discuss adding you as an official dev in a couple weeks.

We're about to release version 1.0 of xBOUT, which relies on animatplot, so it would be great to discuss this further @t-makaro?

I started working on it at https://github.com/boutproject/animatplot-ng - but didn't had the time recently ...
