change consumer offset retention

Hi! i'm trying to change __consumer_offset topic retention because the default is 604800000
I tried adding this
config:
offsets.topic.retention.ms: "43200000"

but it is not working for me, it didnt even create the topic
any ideas?

Hi @taltsafrirpx please share your Kafka custom resource in full, what version of the operator you are using and what platform you are deploying on. When you say "it didn't even create the topic", what tool/command are you using to list the topics?
