Sort by order of entries field type

Hey,

Is it possible to set a default order for the entries field type? Currently it orders by title, I'd like to order by published date if possible

Just some clarification - I can see that it is in date order if only one collection is selected but if I have multiple then it loads in order by title. I can click the date heading to sort by but just wondering if I can set it as the default so I dont have to sort it each time.

Ahh I think I have a solution - I have created a custom scope to order by date and then applied the scope to the entries field type!
