Maybe: Slim down the repo (remove files that are not strictly required)

there are a lot of files in the repo that are not needed for the operator itself, but rather just for us to be able to manage it (documentation templating, nix files, scripts, ...) it might be worthwhile to have this repo be internal (or just call it '-internal') and derive a repo that just contains the actual code for someone who wants to base their own operator of this. At the moment I imagine people would have a hard time understanding what can safely be removed and what is actually needed

Original idea by Sönke. I also like this idea, it might not even be an issue for us if you'd want to use the slimmed down version as a copy-and-paste starting point.

One issue I do already see is that if we want to bring in new things with operator-templating, all the files we might have deleted will be generated back in
