You can easily build Halloy from source with your own icon! Personally, I’m not against AI—I see it as a helpful tool, like rubber ducking. In this case, I had my good friend Rasmus (linked in the issue above) do most of the work to turn the AI-generated idea into an actual icon, and I really like how it turned out! |

hello! your app looks great. it is modern, beautiful, responsive, and has a bunch of niceties built into it. i was going to recommend it to all of my friends who are scared to dip their toes into IRC.
however, i found out that the branding for this project is AI generated, and i cannot in good conscience recommend that any of my friends use a project that supports and champions stealing artists' work without attribution, creating an end result that is so lifeless and corporate, spitting in the face of creatives, just like you and i. as an artist myself, i feel personally slighted.
i suggest the community come up with a new logo. i would love to see this become a thread where people show their artistic ideas and mockups and the maintainers can pick their favourite and credit them on the README. a project i worked on once, Tenacity, did just that back in 2021, and the results were wonderful.
i urge you to consider this. your project is too good to have slop plastered on top of it.
