Material for MkDocs in the enterprise

I was wondering if anyone had experience using material for MkDocs in a large enterprise? We’ve got ~10k employees, and want a better way to document our processes / communicate with everyone than our current Sharepoint system.
We aren’t a tech company, but I think MkDocs seems fairly intuitive with markdown etc, so shouldn’t be too challenging to roll out.
Also, if anyone has experience with adding authentication, and which ways work well with MkDocs, then I’d be interested in hearing about that as well.
