Become a sponsor to Common Wealth Robotics
After spending the first decade of my career failing to launch 3 educational robotics businesses, and a few years in industry, I decided to become an elementary level technology teacher. I teach kids in 1st grade up through advanced robotics classes in high school. I want all my students to learn skills that hey can own and keep with them for the rest of their life.
After seeing how many of the tools that are kid friendly are proprietary and closed source, I decided to dedicate some of my summer time to building open source alternatives. BowlerStudio is for the high schoolers to design and simulate whole robots. CaDoodle is for my 2nd-8th graders to learn introduction to CAD concepts with a drag-and-drop style interface.
Every year I design small 3d printed robots for use in my classes, using my own CAD tools. These robots are also available as free, open source designs.
Each summer I will dedicate some time to improving the offerings of open source software for teaching engineering and roboics for all kids everywhere.
