Is it safe to use the Local System Update Wizard rather than sideloading?

The official Nothing Support team suggested this method to install an update:

Use Local System Update Wizard
Alternatively, use Nothing’s built-in offline updater:

• Place the downloaded OTA file in a folder named ota in your internal storage.
• Dial ##682## to access the offline update tool and select the OTA file for installation.

Are there any downsides to this compared to sideloading?

@anomaluna Sideloading via the manual update package is only possible through the built-in offline updater. If you want to update via the system OTA updater, it will fetch the update from the server and will only proceed with installation if your device partitions have not been modified. I recommend going through the guide once.

I'm afraid I didn't fully understand your reply though. I went through the guide but the process seemed a bit too complicated for me, I'm not very savvy or familiar with these methods.

I have not rooted my device, modded partitions or anything of the sort. In fact, this is the first time I'm trying something like this.

To explain my situation simply, I ran into some issues with the way my mobile network was working. And it was only after installing the 3.2 update for Nothing Phone (1) directly via the system update in settings.

That's why I want to downgrade to version 3.0 and came across your repository for old updates. Thanks for making this treasure trove, it's exactly what I needed! Just need to figure out the installation process.

This requires unlocking the bootloader of the device and flashing the stock firmware corresponding to one of the available 3.0 builds via the the provided fastboot flashing scripts.

In fact, this is the first time I'm trying something like this.
