In-flight decompression

To save users disk space we could add inflight decompression support.

• Bigger risk for the user in case of an error
• Less space required

We need to weigh the risks, etc. But in general, with 100+ GiB file size, it's tricky to have both.

With the same goal of working around user disk space limitation, an alternative (or addition) could be to allow users to specify a separate location for initial download (such as HDD).
