A variation of this is already implemented actually, to differentiate between debug vs production builds. see screenshot |

This is implemented by having files in the A similar folder called Switching icons in the settings.. I'm not sure if that is even possible. |

Thanks for the quick replies @spacecowboy! I was thinking of a certain FOSS organization's suite of apps with customizable colors, but realized they are only able to change the background color of the app icon. I do not believe the method that they used would preserve your branding. Upon further research it appears that it is not currently possible to switch app icons within an apps settings. I understand if you do not wish to change the icon for either the Play app or the F-droid app, but it would be very convenient for those that have a use case such as mine. For the time being I will just have to settle for installing another app, one that can make shortcuts with custom icons. |

For my specific workflow, I use both the Play Store and F-droid versions of Feeder. I really appreciate the features of Feeder much more than any other feed reader.
Thanks for the wonderful app, @spacecowboy! And the ability to install Feeder twice on the same device is a fantastic feature!
To further enhance the experience of parallel installs, the ability to switch app icons within the settings would be incredibly useful. This would allow users to easily distinguish between the different installations at a glance.
While I understand the importance of branding, perhaps an option to change the icon's color scheme could be considered. For example, a green-on-white version, similar to the image below, would provide a clear visual distinction.

As I'm unsure how to implement such a change, I hope someone in the community might be willing to take on this request.
Thanks again @spacecowboy!
