continuous variable coloration of plots

Hi Sourmash team,
Loving the better plot plug in. Is there an option to use continuous colors as opposed to discrete in the MDS plots? I'm not seeing a flag in the help page, but I might be missing something.

nope - but shouldn't be too difficult. can you provide me with an example? that might speed things up.

Data would looks something like this:

so you'd like the points shaded so that numbers that were close to each other would be colored similarly, but it would be on a spectrum? if you can find an example picture, that would help.

Gradient spectrum would be great. I usually just use seaborn's viridis pallette, but I'm not picky. Here is someone doing something similar on stack overflow:
