react-native-svg 15.6.0 not working in react native version 0.71

I'm using an old version of react native for a course project, and I came across the error:

Execution failed for task ':react-native-svg:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'

Which led me to install an older version of react-native-svg, I'm using 15.3.0 and it works in this version of react-native
