My questions from earlier this week stemmed from my need to finish preparations for a webinar that we (Coreform) gave yesterday that demonstrated the use of Dakota's black-box interface and FEA simulation tools: MOOSE and Cubit. I thought I'd share the webinar with the community, it's on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFsUSNlH118
A few comments
The workflow that I prepared is likely an old, possibly deprecated, workflow as it no longer seems supported in the Dakota 6.18 GUI (i.e. the
Script-Based Dakota Driver
wizard appears to have been removed in 6.18). The workflow I demonstrated is the same workflow I became accustomed to during my time at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC). Over the years and over the projects I've done that have used Dakota I've just copied the files from a previous run and modified the files to support my current problem. In support of the webinar, I added my files to a GitHub repository: https://github.com/coreformllc/cubit_dakota. I anticipate this repository being a continual "work in progress" for us to assist our users in seeing a "real" example of how to set up black-box optimization studies for FEA, so I appreciate any commentary, as well as suggested improvements / updates to the workflow. Comments either here, or on that repository's discussion page.
