Debian install

Please forgive me if this has been asked before but I am trying to install onto a debian system and I just do not seem to be able to do it. Am I missing something, my deep appreciation for any advice.

You just need some apt-get's: https://github.com/sn4k3/UVtools#linux
And download UVtools_linux package at releases

sorry to open this question again...
I've been trying to compile UVtools in LMDE4 (based on Debian Buster) with no success. I upgraded CMake to the 3.18 version (Buster backports).
I have already compiled Emgucv, which I think compiled OK. I tried also copying the "libcvextern.so" from that compilation, but I got a segmentation fault ('core' dumped) error.
I think the main problem relies upon "libopenexr24". Debian Buster uses libopenexr23, and it is not possible to upgrade to 24 or 25 versions, or at least not so simple, because it requires "gcc-11".
Am I guessing right? Should I upgrade to Debian 11 (or wait for LMDE 5)?

You dont need to compile UVtools, the linux distribution is compatible with Debian 9+
Your problem is on libcvextern, the compability starts on Ubuntu 20.04, below can have problems and hard to compile. And yes you will need libopenexr24.

You better to upgrade your system if you want to run UVtools without problems. Old libraries and dependencies are always a problem and hard to bypass. We will always use recent dependencies and frameworks to keep in date with performance.
I know it work on normal Mint. If you want to keep your current system, the best bet is try to have libopenexr24 working

And yes... Ubuntu 20 relies upon Linux kernel 5, and Debian 10 is still with kernel 4.19... so it is not possible (or really hard) to have libopenexr24 working.

Yes, linux have this problem when come to compabilities and a nightmare to maintain different distributions and versions. I high recommend you to upgrade your OS.
Soon UVtools will only work on debian 10+ with new .NET 6.0
