Lesson 6: Gas Reporter throws errror HH10

Hi,

I am trying to use the gas reporter plugin but I am constantly given the same error:

yarn hardhat test
yarn run v1.22.15
$ /home/useradd/hh-fcc/hardhat-simple-storage-fcc/node_modules/.bin/hardhat test
Error HH10: Error while loading Hardhat's configuration.
You or one of your plugins is trying to modify the userConfig.gasReporter.currency value from a config extender

I have typed the lines in the hardhat.config.js several times to confirm they are good, installed the package in --dev and verify that hardhat-gas-reporter is on package.json .

This is the related code:

1. In hardhat.config.js :

require("hardhat-gas-reporter");
...
gasReporter: { enabled: true, },

2. In package.json :

"hardhat-gas-reporter": "^1.0.8",

I really hope someone could help me out.

I'm just going through the hardhat-gas-reporter plugin docs to see if I can find a solution there

Just for anyone else who is stuck on this error message, I carried on to the end of this mini-section on the gas reporter and managed to run the tests and generate the gas-report.txt file successfully, just seems to be the terminal output that is generating the error.

@benjbright Thank you! I kept going and now I can run the test correctly and the gas-reporter.txt generates successfully. It might be a bug from hardhat/gas-reporter, I guess...

@SebasAran16 no problem and yes I think that's the case. I did go through the docs and it said there could be a conflict with eth-gas-reporter but I definitely don't have that installed and I was reaching the limits of my technical ability so I decided to try and keep moving forward! Maybe there will be some further information later in the course that will help solve this issue.
