gas consumption comparison

Hi,
During the Youtube course at 05:27:45, Patrick said that funding the contract directly through fund() function cost a little bit less gas as compared to sending through Metamask to our FundMe contract.

I actually ran both of these methods and compared the Transaction Fee and found it to be otherwise.

Metamask - send function cost - 0.000165258000991548 Ether, whereas
Direclty clicking fund() fucntion cost - 0.000275802500992889 Ether for the exact same amount of Ether transfer.

Did I misinterprest something here ?

@ManuWeb3 At the point you mentioned, he was not talking about MetaMask. He called the fund function inside the receive function, for that he said if you directly call the fund function it would cost less gas than calling inside the receive.
