In he video, .sol file failing to autoformat fixed by removing immutable keyword

Hi Patrick. At this point in the video https://youtu.be/gyMwXuJrbJQ?t=40014 you noticed the file was not auto-formatting. I had found that earlier and spent ages trying (and failing) to understand that was causing it. How did you know that you needed to uncomment the immutable keyword.

That's a syntax error I believe that exists and disables auto formatting. You can try by yourself. Adding a comment between code in the same line caused the bug as seen in the video.

Hmm - thanks for the reply. It didn't seem like a syntax error though because the code compiles and runs fine if you remove the word immutable, and indeed if you leave it in surrounded by /* ... */. But the format-on-save fails in the latter case.

In the video it seemed like Patrick knew instantly what the problem was, and I wondered how he knew that.
