window.ethereum is showing undefined

In console , window.ethereum is showing undefined.
Due to which nothing happens on clicking connect button as shown in the video at 12:55:35
I have tried reinstalling metamask several times.

@akshatlumb Make sure you are on some website, if you just open a tab window.ethereum does not work there.

I just found out that my index.html is not opening in live server while i am in wsl. Although it is working if i open it without wsl and window.ethereum also doesn't give undefined then. Does live server not work on wsl ?

To fix this issue go to Settings make sure you're under Remote[WSL:"your linux distro"] and modify the Live Server>Settings: Advance Custom Browser CMD Line click edit in settings.json it should look like this:
"liveServer.settings.AdvanceCustomBrowserCmdLine": "/mnt/c/Program Files/Google/Chrome/Application/chrome.exe"
change the path a needed for Firefox, Edge etc.
