HELP! VSCode is being weird! Letters/words flicker on Mac

I’ve searched pretty much everywhere and I seem to be the only one…. For some reason when I type in the VSC terminal every other letter flickers as if the cursor is on it. I changed blink block to solid line and no changes I have a video as well that shows what I’m talking about but won’t post. Please help it’s super annoying!

I’ve updated with video, still on solid line cursor. Also if I don’t type anything it flickers anyway but if I do it on regular terminal everything is fine. It is an old 2011 MacBook running high sierra maybe just can’t hang?
