We had started the first transaction with dummy money , carried it out through metamask , but etherscan also shows the transaction. |

Hey @arnav029 yes etherscan does show real money (ETH) transactions on the mainnet. Etherscan is a block explorer that allows us to see transaction on several blockchains not just mainnet. Throughout the course we use testnets like rinkeby and goerli that have dummy money. This is considered dummy money because it has no real value in the real world outside the testnets that the money is in. what makes ETH on the mainnet valuable is because you can exchange it with real dollars. It is also important to note that ETH cannot be used across different chains so if you have ETH on rinkeby it can't be used in goeli or mainnet. So etherscan shows fake money when you are on a testnet and real money when you are on the mainnet. If you just go to https://etherscan.io you will see real transactions but if you want to switch to rinkeby or others chains that have fake money, you can do so by clicking at the top right corner and selecting the chain you want. |
