TypeError: Cannot read property 'vrfCoordinatorV2' of undefined

This is the error. I have Checked helper-hardhat and deploy script a couple of times.
its running when i run - npx hardhat deploy but it gets me an error when i run with npx hardhat deploy --network goerli

YOu need to add a goerli section in your networkConfig object. You were trying to retrieve vrfCoordinatorV2 where chainId was 5 but your networkConfig network config doesn't have chainId 5 configured, only 4 and 31337

Edit: Oh I see you have networkName "goerli" there. If the details are correct, the change 4 to 5

4 for goerli and 5 for rinkeby ! so it is already mentioned with number 4 . so what could be the error?

First, don't interchange the chainId values, it will cause unnecessary confusion. Rinkeby should be chainId 4 and goerli should be chainId 5

Second, in your 01-deploy-lottery.js file, there is this line const chainId = network.config.chainId What this line does is checks the official chainId for whatever chain you deploy to and assigns the value to the variable chainId Afterwards, in the line const vrfCoordinatorV2Address = networkConfig[chainId][vrfCoordinatorV2] we use this chainId value that we got from the assignment i've mentioned. So if we deploy to goerli the chainId variable gets set to 5 and the line becomes const vrfCoordinatorV2Address = networkConfig[5][vrfCoordinatorV2] But unfortunately, there is no object 5 in networkConfig. Only 4 and 31337 hence we encounter the error undefined because 5 is absent.

Third, if you deploying to goerli, you need to make sure that the gasLane and vrfCoordinatorV2 are correct and you aren't using any value for rinkeby. Also the subscriptionId needs to have been created for goerli not rinkeby

It was a silly error which you have mentioned. I have written the code and started to confuse the chainId number with 4. changing the Id got it deployed. thankyou.
