hardhat-deploy-ethers is not maintained since January 2022- any alternatives?

The last hardhat-deploy-ethers PR to was merged on 25 Dec 2021. Besides the library causing some problems while using it with npm and the newest version of the hh toolkit.
it seems like the project is dead. Do you know any similar project, or maybe rather is better to stick with this what HH provides out of the box for the best DX?
What are your opinions?

@WojciechJelen I am not sure which version are you using. But this version "@nomiclabs/hardhat-ethers": "npm:hardhat-deploy-ethers@^0.3.0-beta.13", is working well.

And I do not have any alternative in mind yet, but defiantly you can use it if you find one. The purpose is to do the work, the tool can be any.

That's correct- It is working with yarn, but because the package is not maintained anymore I was curious if any similar and newer tool exists. Thank you for the answer
