Debugging with Hardhat Network

I am trying to see how debugin works! and I'm using this docs : https://hardhat.org/tutorial/debugging-with-hardhat-network to understand.

AND i have also import "hardhat/console.sol"; this in my contract.

So I did write this extra line console.log() in the function of my contract :

 function EnterLottery() public payable {
        if (msg.value < i_entranceFee) {
            revert lottery__NotEnoughFUnds(); 
        }

        if (s_raffleState != RaffleState.OPEN) {
            revert lottery__NotOpen(); 
        }
        s_players.push(payable(msg.sender)); 
        emit LotteryEnter(msg.sender); 
        console.log(msg.value, i_entranceFee)//debug
    }

and run npx hardhat test to see if it is working. and it failed the compilation.
what could be the issue?

btw error is : Error HH600: Compilation failed.

so it cant get compile. how to write it right to make it work?

Hey @MasterofBlockchain please share the entire contract code and the error in your terminal

No it is because i used .only before it. so it could not console.log. After removing it started to console.log on test but as per docs we can have console.log at the time of solidity compilation as well.

So console.log is in the contract and when i compiled it and it just got regular compiled rather than showing console.log value in terminal? but showin up console.log in tests but not in contracts?

The log is inside the function, so it will only run inside the function (when you call the function)

Exactly! So the log doesn't run when you compile, it runs when you call the function ( when you join the lottery)
