error in dotenv

when I try to make a test this appears to me

@mazen-sleem : You don't have dotenv in your package.json thats why it is saying: Cannot find module 'dotenv' .

Run this command if using NPM : npm install dotenv

Run this command if using Yarn : yarn add dotenv

It will resolve you issue!

@mazen-sleem you are getting this error because you haven't installed the dotenv module in your project. You can install it with yarn add --dev dotenv or npm install --save-dev dotenv

Well, the error occurs either because 1. dotenv module is not installed or 2. dotenv is not imported in your hardhat.config.

• How can we resolve this? It is done so by first making sure you have dotenv or not: if it is not there in your package.json, do yarn add --dev dotenv to add and install it simultaneously.

• Now, in your hardhat.config.js--along with other imported packages--import the dotenv package as so: require("dotenv").config()

The above will fix it; all the best!

i changed the npm version as you said
the error is solved and I can install dotenv now
but when I try to test this happens to me

Sorry, I am not accustomed to Truffle. Also, this seems like a different issue altogether w/ Truffle. You should close this one and make a new discussion outlining the above error :)

1. Try to give all permission to your project folder with below command:

• sudo chmod -R 777 /yourProjectDirectoryName

2. then run this command :

• sudo npm install dotenv

sudo should not be used carelessly; even when it is necessary for it to be used, always--next time--leave a small note of precaution for the user to not get hacked/phished as they are giving perms to that specific directory.

@krakxn : I have clearly said above, that we are giving all permissions to our project directory as you can see!
It includes all the facts you mentioned!
