Lesson-7 Error:- Assertion error : expected undefined to be equal to "address"

Hey guys, I need your help...

I modified the previous code

I'm in lesson-7 and when I'm trying to write the tests its showing an assertion error can somebody help me.

On trying to understand the error
After staring at that code I understood that...
it("Add funder to the array") and it("Updates the person in the mapping") these two it's (in my github repo) are not reading the deployer address.

At first I thought because of the let keyword and function restrictions, then I changed the keyword to var. Still it didn't worked so I tryied console loging... In console.log I'm getting the deployer address in the console log but I can't able to get them when using for the it(""Updates the person in the mapping") and it("Add funder to the array").

What I watched is both the deployer address and the response which I get in the "it(Add funder to array)" are same but when I'm running the test the async function is not reading the deployer address
Same thing happed to the it(Updates the person to the mapping) function.

Hey @Sairam002 did you add the --network rinkeby tag when running the test?

No I'm deploying to the hardhat itself

What is the full command that you ran that resulted in the above error?

I'm guessing you ran yarn hardhat deploy --tags fundme on hardhat itself. Long story short, the fundMe.deploy.js file is not designed to run locally so you need to add --network rinkeby if you specifically want to deploy this file alone.
Your full command should be:
yarn hardhat deploy --tags fundme --network rinkeby

Cannot seem to find any problem.

Try this:

• Delete node_modules, artifacts and cache
• Copy the package.json from the course's repo
• Now, do yarn install
• Then, yarn hardhat compile
• Then, yarn hardhat deploy

@alymurtazamemon gave a solution and it worked but don't know how!
If possible can you please explain...

It relates to the order precedence of the scripts for Hardhat to run, we need to specify which ones should be run first.
