In which situation function call can return false?

What conditions must occur for the call to return false, I want to test this so that my coverage is excellent.

I'm thinking about two scenarios where you can test it out.

1. If you hard code the amount of gas to execute the call, in order to fail.
2. If msg.sender is actually a contract without a fallback payable function to receive the ether.
