Lesson 9: Staging Test - Chainlink VRF transactions are pending

Here are the steps of my Execution in Deploying and testing Raffle.sol

1. Created Chainlink VRF Subscription, Funded with 2 LINK and added the SubId to Hardhat Config
2. Successfully deployed "Raffle.sol" contract onto Rinkeby Testnet and got it verified.
3. Added Contract Address as Consumer to Chainlink VRF
4. Created Chainlink Keeper with "Custom Logic" selected and funded the Keeper with 13 LINK tokens.
5. Tried to Execute Staging Tests with "hh test --network rinkeby", it is failing everytime.
6. Execution starts and Chainlink Keeper performs "upkeep"
7. A Request is created in Chainlink VRF but it doesn't get completed.
8. Requests remain in "Pending state" for more than 24 Hours.
9. As the requests are not completed RaffleState is stuck at 1 [CALCULATING]
10. I am unable to try again from the same contract as RaffleState is NOT OPEN.
11. I have tried creating multiple contracts, in most cases Requests are not completed by Chainlink VRF.

It is an issue with the VRF or something is wrong with my approach?

On my 5th contract deployment, it worked for me once. Tried to run the staging test again, VRF took around 10 mins to respond, so test failed due to timeout.

@SrikanthAlva are you making sure to fund your VRF Subscription appropriately too? I only ask because I do not see any funding for that in the steps you outlined.

I have funded the VRF Subscription with 2 LINK tokens each time.

I deployed the contract for the 5th time and I was able to pass the Staging Test, I didn't make significant changes this time.
However, on running staging tests the second time, the test failed due to timeout. VRF responded 10 mins after the perform Upkeep trigger. After 10-12 mins RaffleState was returning back to OPEN. This gave me assurance that my code is working fine and this has something to do with VRF itself.

Hi @SrikanthAlva ,

I'm stuck at a simialr situation. It's weird.

My first 4 VRF requests worked fine and 5th one has been in Pending for more than 2 hours due to which my Raffle's state is still Open.

I tried couple of times running hh test --network rinkeby but now it seems it's not even invoking the enterRaffle( ) , evident from rinkeby.etherscan history.

I've been reading all threads here related to failing Raffle-staging test and came across yours.

I was thinking to re-deploy, re-subscribe, and re-register my Raffle but you said that you already tried it and it still gets stuck at VRF.

What's your status now ?
