Go through this: #1219 This goes in-depth as to how the EVM works and hence, the gas fees. You will get your answer there if you read attentively. Try to answer yourself. Of course, if you cannot, let me know I will help! And as to the view and pure functions, they do not. They do not consume gas because they disallow modification of state. |

Any on-chain functions execution costs gas, so view and pure functions cost gas if called by a contract. |

Hello,
You say reading from storage is expensive right? (in 11:58:25)
But as far as I'm concerned, only calling a function that does not write on the blockchain (view and pure functions) does not consume gas, and only when we wanna update storage consume gas, is that right?! so why do you say that?!
