String manipulation functions?

Are there any basic string manipulation functions in slint (like substring etc.)
I couldn't find any, but I did find a few math functions, so maybe there are available?

You can format something using "Hello, \{name}", or concatenate two strings with + but anything more than that is not availaible yet as far as I know (I wanted to get the first character of a string and had to do it in the back end).
