Weird Math syntax issue

Hi Guys !

I am trying to create a slide that has a equation. The equation is not rendered properly in inline-math but it is fine in display mode. Can anyone suggest what might be problem ?

- This math equation is not rendered correctly:  $ \left( C_L^j-C_S^j \right)  \left( v/v_D^j \right) =\sum_{i=1}^n\left( C_L^i C_S^j - \kappa^{i,j} C_S^i C_L^j \right)  $

- However, the above equation can be rendered properly in display-math mode.
$$\left( C_L^j-C_S^j \right)  \left( v/v_D^j \right) =\sum_{i=1}^n\left( C_L^i C_S^j - \kappa^{i,j} C_S^i C_L^j \right)  $$

In the inline LaTex code, remove the spaces after the first $ and before the last $?
