Why did you join sktime's mentorship program?
I've been working on various ML projects for a while, and a few months ago, I discovered sktime while exploring open-source contributions. I was drawn to the supportive community and how they welcome newcomers. It also introduced me to time forecasting—a new area for me. I believe this mentorship will help me learn how to apply ML and DL to time forecasting.
What topics are you working on?
Right now I am working on some forecasters in sktime and interested in pytorch-forecasting:
SkforecastRecursive -> sktime/sktime#8255
forecasting pipelines -> sktime/sktime#8237
What are your learning goals?
I'm really interested in using ML and DL models for time forecasting with sktime and PyTorch Forecasting because I think it will help me understand the topic better. I also want to learn how to take care of open-source packages and get better at using GitHub and Git.
What's next for you after the mentorship program?
I would like to continue contributing to sktime and pytorch-forecasting and other open source organisations.
