Hi Andy. Thanks for posting about this. It relates to your question about the relationship between the mizer package and the mizerExperimental package. mizerExperimental contains code and functionality that is new and experimental. After the functionality has been used for a while and has proven its usefulness, it gets moved into the next release of the mizer package. Sometimes mizerExperimental overwrites mizer functions with its own version to provide the new functionality. This is the case for the get_h_default() function. In the past you could only call it when you already had a MizerParams object in place. In the new version provided by mizerExperimental you can also call it with a species parameter data frame. By changing the code from get_h_default(sp) to mizer::get_h_default(sp) you forced R to use the version of the old version that is defined by the mizer package. Hence the error.
