Video Gltich with Clonezilla

im having trubble using clonezilla via PCIe NanoKVM and also via the USBKVM version. With Booth Versions with the exact same issues.

while the "Bootmenue" looks fine but with arrow keys im only able to reach the top or the bottom option. it jumps over all lines in the middle. Line 2, 3 and 4 are reachable via shortcut but not with arrow keys.

then when im booting any of the reachable options it looks like the pixel lines are extendet beyond the detected resulution and added in the next line. This reapeats and the resulting image is non useable distrorted. With USBKVM and PCIe NanoKVM ive tried all available resulutions and some custom ones, and all other video options, but sadly nothing helps.

The Arrowkeys not working proberly is not nice but not gamebreaking. The distorded video is. Do im missing some options? Is this a bug or i am just stupid?

Looks like video sync issue to me. What resolution have you tested? I tend to go with 1024x768 video mode. Should really test it myself.

The PCIe Nano KVM dose not support Customs resolutions. For me at leased.

When i force 800x600 as Clonezilla seems to run i get a very inconsistent video like

Not mutch more useable than any other resulution

I feel like that the NVIDIA GT 1030 I have installed in this system to give myself a video output might be upscaling the image to 1920x1080.

But forcing the video to 800x600 also breaks the image. This is Windows Server 2025 lock screen. Maybe try with Automatic resolution if it fixes the issue.

Automatic dosen't help me, ive tested all avaiable options.
I have only the iGPU avaiable (Ryzen Pro 4650G).

Hm that confirms that my GPU midigates this issue with its built-in upscaling. But if Automatic also doesn't help, there must be some weird video issue. Are you running in H.264 or MJPEG?

ive tested all 3.

2 diffreneses that ive noticed are blacks in MJPEG are washed out and 800x600 in MJPEG is not green but like all the other combinations bugged the same way:

Washed out black levels may indicate incorrect color range somewhere down the road (which I think doesn't matter that much 😀)

But the broken image seems to be bug somewhere in the capture process in my opinion. It should take standard video signals it supports to the computer via EDID, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

One think I would check is if the display on the NanoKVM tells you what resolution it's running matches the resolution you are expecting or if you plug in a monitor that says what it is. But that requires physical access to the target machine.

That would indicate that it thinks it's getting an 1080p signal. I checked against the docs to confirm. If you plug in a monitor instead the NanoKVM while it's booted to clonezilla, check the monitor's menu what video it's getting.
