Bug description
Signal supports message formatting (e.g. bold, italics, underline, etc) but when using an external keyboard, the usual command sequences (⌘-B, ⌘-I, ⌘-U, etc) do not work. You need to take your hands off the keyboard, highlight the sequence via touch on the screen, tap to get the popup, drag to Format, then tap on whatever formatting you want.
Steps to reproduce
- Type a message in Signal using an external keyboard.
- Highlight a word via the keyboard (e.g. shift-arrow).
- Type ⌘-I to italicize the word.
Actual result: Nothing happens.
Expected result: The word is italicized.
