The applications closes/crashes when trying to change the download options.

I just freshly installed the downloader and it seems to work just fine downloading videos, but when clicking on the Options button next to the URL box, the downloader program freezes and then closes without any error popups. Regardless of whether a URL is included in the box or not.

I don't really know why it is happening. Could it be something with my GPU perhaps? (Intel Arc B580)

The Errors.txt in appdata\roaming does not say anything about it either. (if there are a different locations for errors then I did not find it)

I'm not sure how helpful it could be, but here is a DxDiag report as it can probably provide a much better description of the hardware than I ever could:

I'll check this out tomorrow. Its probably not your system, you can make sure by trying to downgrade to 1.9.29 from the releases page on github and check if it still happens. If it doesn't happen, then its my fault and I'll have to fix it

I can't reproduce this, can you share some more information about what you're doing? which setting are you changing?

I am simply clicking on the options button once and it does not open any menus, just stops the program after it freezes.

Solution:
Download the installer from version 1.9.29. Then update to the latest version within the application. I cant explain why this worked, but it does. I can now open the options menu and change the file format.

Make sure to uninstall the faulty verion first, before installing 1.9.29 to exactly replicate my solution.

I have updated to the newest version using the application, the issue still persisted. So I uninstalled and installed 1.9.32, maybe that would fix it, but no, issue still persists. Also tried running it as an administrator but nope.

So I installed 1.9.29 as the suggested by Daz to try his method, before updating I checked the options it seems to be working, so I updated to the newest version and it remains working...

I then uninstalled and went on the try version 1.9.30, that also works. So I tried 1.9.31 and that works too... (wait a minute). I then tried 1.9.32 which along with the previous ones has no issues.

That means that version 1.9.29 did something that makes the other versions work as well, even after uninstalling it, but what???

Now I am also unable to reproduce the crash :/

As far as I could understand it was caused because of wrong setting values set by version 1.9.30 and 1.9.31, specifically the video language option. Uninstalling doesn't delete the settings, so if you installed version 1.9.30/31 and opened the settings it corrupted the settings file which caused a crash. I fixed it in version 1.9.32, but since your settings were already corrupted it failed to open even in 1.9.32. It worked when you downgraded to 1.9.29 because that setting doesn't exist in it, therefore it ignored it and deleted it from the settings file.

I need to add the deletion of the settings when uninstalling, it might solve problems like this in the future

That does explain why some versions worked even after I tried deleting the settings, I never done that specific combination to reproduce it...

But I guess that the mystery is solved then.
