RGB Keyboard issues after hibernation

Hello, I have an issue with my Asus TUF Gaming A16 2024 laptop. When the laptop enters hibernation mode after 40 minutes, as per my settings, and I wake it up from hibernation, I need to restart the laptop to get the keyboard backlighting to turn on. Nothing else works, only this option.

• Does restarting G-Helper make any difference ? (it sends some init commands on start only). If not - most likely it's firmware issue.
• How does it work if you hibernate manually (not by timeout) ?

I enabled the "compatible apps in the foreground always control lighting" feature in Windows. So far, it's working as it should—thank you

Even with Armoury Crate uninstalled, the issue persists. After waking the laptop from hibernation for the second time, the keyboard backlight still doesn't turn on, and the only way to resolve it is to perform a complete restart. I've tried toggling Dynamic Lighting in Windows, enabling and disabling Fast Boot, and manually putting the laptop into hibernation, but none of these attempts fixed the issue. I also experimented with disabling all ASUS services in G-Helper and alternatively enabling all of them, but neither approach worked. Do you happen to know what might be causing this problem?

@Dejva5 it could be that AC runs some specific for TUF models (or even for your model) init command to bring keyboard back to life .

Try to manually STOP and DISABLE Armoury Crate and Aura Lighting services in Services app in windows. And then hibernate and wake up. Does keyboard stay off ? Cause if so - one of those services sends some command probably.

I also discovered that if I manually put the laptop into hibernation and wake it up after about 30 seconds, the keyboard backlight works fine. However, if the laptop stays in hibernation for more than approximately 2 minutes, the backlight stops working. 😀 I thought that by disabling ASUS services in G-Helper, all of them would be completely turned off. I don’t have Armoury Crate installed; I removed it using the AC Uninstall Tool.

Most likely keyboard or laptop firmware turns something OFF if device stays OFF for a long time, so it needs some weird init command.

If you want to figure out, try to install AC and manually disable it's services (G-Helper does not do that, it stops only myasus leftowers).

Unfortunately, it didn’t help Or maybe I’m doing something wrong, I don’t know.
The only solution that works is keeping Dynamic Lighting enabled, but that’s honestly really frustrating.

If I use only GHelper on my laptop and disable all ASUS services in GHelper, nothing changes. Whether the services are enabled or disabled, the result is the same—the keyboard backlight doesn't work after hibernation. If I install Armoury Crate (AC) and disable GHelper while ASUS services are enabled, it still doesn't work. Even if I disable the ASUS services, it doesn't change anything either.

However, if I turn on Windows Dynamic Lighting before entering hibernation and then wake the laptop from hibernation, the RGB keyboard backlight works. If Dynamic Lighting is turned off in Windows before hibernation, the RGB keyboard backlight stops working after waking up from hibernation. Once I enable Dynamic Lighting again in Windows, the backlight works without requiring a restart, but the color of the backlight matches the Windows theme instead of my customized settings. To switch to my preferred color, I need to disable Dynamic Lighting again. This process works without needing a restart, but I have to repeat these steps after every reboot or waking the laptop from hibernation.

So Armoury Crate is not fixing the issue then ? Then the problem is not in G-Helper or AC apparently :)

And Dynamic Lighting manages to turn it on, then it has some unique command to wake the keyboard up.

Can you upload G-Helper's log here from %appdata%\GHelper folder ?

Unfortunately, restoring the factory settings didn't resolve the issue, so I'll try sending the log instead.
