Hi,

As an old IT guy, I feel comfortable around technical documentation and following procedures.
But I'm completely lost when installing AdventureLog :-/

Maybe I'm becoming too old for this but I can not find a step by step procedure to install AL using docker and expose it thru a reverse proxy...

I mean, the docker setup is fairly simple. Import compose file, and run.
The reverse proxy is not complicated either. Give a public dns name, an internal handler and run.
But I'm lost in the configuration.
Between Public_Url, Frontend_Url, Origins, CSRF thingy and other, I'm lost.

I would be glad to create a step by step procedure for you to add on your website but for now, it is still a mystery to me :-)

The instructions for what each variable are can be found here: https://adventurelog.app/docs/install/docker.html. Also there are steps for Traefik and NPM which can be found in the installation tab. If there is something you would like me to elaborate on I would be more than happy to!

Sorry for the late reply.
I installed AdventureLog using the Proxmox LXC user script.
For the time being, I can access the frontend using http://[LXC_IP]:3000
I tried to setup a reverse proxy using caddy (I do it for some other services without any issue) and I get and error 502.
My Caddy config is to forward https://travel.mydomain.com to http://[LXC_IP]:3000
Certificate is OK.
I changed the docker-compose.yml as followed and rebooted the container :

Also, the admin panel is not accessible :-/
I tried http://[LXC_IP]:3000/admin and http://[LXC_IP]:80/admin

Hi @J-C-P, I would update the Caddy to use port 8015 for the frontend because that's the exposed port and 3000 is the internal port. You should then have something like http://[LXC_IP]:8015. I would then make sure that the backend is also exposed separately to something like https://api.mydomain.com. You would then update the variables like CSRF_TRUSTED_ORIGINS and PUBLIC_URL accordingly. The PUBLIC_SERVER_URL in the frontend seems to be pointing to the frontend as well. This will be changed to the new backed URL you need to expose. So then you have PUBLIC_SERVER_URL=https://api.mydomain.com. I figured what leaded me to the wrong path.
When you install LXC container using the user script, the last line tells you to connect to port 3000 to access the interface. This led me tio believe it was the frontend...

I must have missed something else...
TCP port 8015 is closed on LXC container :-/
3000 is open and frontend is available.

FYI, 8016 and 80 are also closed.

I ditched the LXC container, installed AdventureLog using docker, made the needed changes, configured Caddy as requested.

All is working good !!!
