Digital Library : Saving Paper Works & Workload

Problem

In most of the college libraries, there goes series of work to get the details of Newcomers prior to creation the Library card. These tasks includes lot of paper work & stress to collect, edit and modify data which results in excessive delay and wrong details over some cards.
Even after successful creation of cards there need manual work to update the details in registers while issuing and returning books also to have check over the late submission fines. Worries of forgetting and missing library card.

Solution

I thought of building an application or a website creation for this project. When the user visits to the projects he/she will have to Sign-Up or Sign-In with email address provided by the university. After signing in the user will be redirected to the new page websitename/@username which will pop-up with the following options:

Features

• Past Records of issuing Book - User could easily check which books they had issued in the past.
• Barcode/QR code Scanner - Using the QR Code scanner or Barcode reader, which will show the details of the book the user is interested in, he may select the add option which will get verified after digital signature of the librarian and it will add up in your records, will update the Library database too.
• Late Submission Charges - As per the rule the late submission are liable to fine so after certain number of days it will start incrementing the base value.
• Reminder - Before the end date of returning book the application will remind the user.
• User Details - Once the user successfully lands up on the Home page, he/she can update their profiles like DOB, personal details and more.
• Explore Option(Availability of a certain book in Library) - User can explore the various books available in the library without any physical searching from the pile of books.

Future Aspects

• Can have selves wise(row & column) searching option
• New Books Arrival in the Library can easily be updated to the users through the application
• Later can add voice control feature

A digital library management system, pretty interesting.
There should probably also be an option to generate unique stickers for each book filed in the library

Most libraries give unique numbers to each book that they have.

Yeah! The books in the library do have a unique number and even a card (with some details) stored in a envelope at the back. So, we could either use the unique number to issue the book or can substitute with a QR code but in both the cases we need the verification of librarian (either thumbprint verification or password verification).
